Studiolibero Architettura is a well-established firm: it was founded in 2018 after more than 20 years of experience in comprehensive design and management of public and private projects. On this occasion, the task they faced was to install a ventilated façade on the Gruppo Cipriano building in Giugliano de Campania (Naples).
To achieve this, the team used the DKT1 concealed anchoring system, which allows the building to be clad with Dekton slabs. This way, the old structure could benefit from a new ventilated façade to improve not only the aesthetics but also the thermal performance of the building, which is now much more efficient. Additionally, its durability is also enhanced thanks to Dekton's features: it does not scratch; it withstands surface impacts without alteration; it can be cleaned with water (even when removing graffiti); it does not contract in the cold or expand in the heat, and it is completely waterproof against rain.
Assistance technique
“The greatest challenge was adapting the entire façade to a pre-existing building, with evident architectural constraints that had to be integrated into the façade's structure,” the studio explains. However, despite the complexity of the task, the result was satisfactory: “We had the technical support of Cosentino to develop the final implementation of the project,” the professionals explain. “The company also transported all the slabs to the site within the required timeframe.”
The new look, modern, clean, and continuous, creates a striking black skin with a textured visual feel and greenish touches thanks to Dekton Sirius. “We chose Dekton for its resistance, durability, and especially its attractive colour,” say Studiolibero Architettura. In fact, it was the only option they considered for the project: “We immediately fell in love with Dekton Sirius,” recall the architects, who had never worked with Cosentino's surface before.
Thanks to Dekton's technical features, the new façade will withstand the test of time and remain intact against weather conditions. Furthermore, Cosentino's ultra-compact surface, which comes with a 25-year warranty for façade applications, helps improve the building's sustainability, as it is a carbon-neutral product throughout its entire lifecycle.
