Nexton Parkway is an up-and-coming area in Summerville, South Carolina that is drawing attention from high-end businesses and residences in the region. This project came to be after The Middleton Group, a South-Caroline based architecture firm, learned about DKTN Ultracompact Stone, a large format surface characterized for its hardness, peak performance, and resistance to the elements.
The Middleton Group fell in love with the look and durability of DKTN and how different it was from any other material they’d worked with in the past. They were excited by the novelty and innovation this surface could bring to The Hub at Nexton.
Originally, brown brick was chosen for a part of the facade, but after the building mockup was created, the decision was made to paint the brick white in order for DKTN to stand out and become the focal point of the design. In this commercial project we can see two DKTN colors: Fossil and Sirius.
From the Natural Collection, Fossil is a gray, natural looking surface that brings the look and feel of aged fossilized pieces, as its name suggests. On the other hand, Sirius from the Solid Collection is a smooth black color with a textured visual sensation and subtle greenish touches. The HyComb system was used for the application of the facade.
With DKTN, business owners at The Hub at Nexton can have the peace of mind that their facades will stay looking as beautiful as the day they were installed. DKTN is resistant to extreme hot and cold temperatures, graffiti, scratches, stains, and more.
