“A cosy home, with a simple architecture, neutral colours and a sophisticated atmosphere”. These are the words with which interior designer Gerlane Calabria sums up this stunning house with garden in Cuiabá, Brazil. “Thinking about every detail, the architect added a special touch, bringing comfort and warmth to every space”, says the interior designer in relation to this project carried out in collaboration with Fernando Lima and Isabela Gavilik.
About the villa, located on a plot of more than 2,000 square metres, Calabria highlights its Stripe kitchen, with straight lines and hidden handles that bring “functionality and character to the project”. The kitchen also features a stunningly beautiful island made of DKTN Kovik, to which a beautiful piece of wood has been attached.
But perhaps the most extraordinary thing about this kitchen is the fact that it is not the only kitchen in the villa, but houses an industrial-style ‘internal kitchen’ equipped with a pantry and designed for use by professionals. For this reason, its worktop is made of DKTN Zenith, an ultra-compact stone in a beautiful Nordic white that is resistant to scratches, impacts, stains and extreme cold and heat. All these properties make it possible to cut on the surface without using a chopping board or to place hot dishes straight from the oven.
DKTN, a fireproof material
However, beyond its beauty, it is its performance that makes this surface the perfect choice for this application, as DKTN is able to withstand abrasion perfectly, as its 25-year warranty attests. In addition, DKTN Kovik was the material used to give continuity to the decoration throughout the house, as it was used for floors, window sills, stairs, worktops, bar tops…
“Thanks to their shape, functionality, strength and durability, we believe that Cosentino products are the only products suitable for the project and its purpose”, says Calabria. In this sense, the professional highlights the elegant outdoor ‘fire pit’ clad in DKTN Kovik. Inspired by natural materials, with neutral base tones and a subtle pattern, the structure of Kovik – a colour that is also used in the kitchen – is characterised by random veins running through a neutral light grey background.
Silestone and DKTN for natural spaces that contribute to “quality of life”
Apart from DKTN, Silestone is the other predominant material in this spectacular villa. This Cosentino material was used in a number of spaces throughout the villa. Silestone White Storm, a white shade that brings clarity and light, was used for the laundry room and its bathroom.
Meanwhile, the master bathroom features Silestone Royal Reef, a beige colour with grey shades. Last but not least, the dressing room and the rest of the bathrooms feature Silestone Kensho, a colour that conveys positive energy and good vibes thanks to its silky surface in harmonious grey, creating atmospheres with an Asian and Zen touch.
