In the heart of the rural landscape of the Galician town of Sanxenxo, characterised by the predominance of single-family houses, stands this remarkable project by Estudio JASS, led by José Antonio Sueiro Sueiro. An architectural marvel, dazzling in its white colour and finishes. Designed in different volumes and levels to respect the topography of the site, the residence features large windows to enhance the natural light and stunning views that surround the property.
The studio chose Dekton for the façade and the upper part of the walls because, according to the architect himself, it met all the project’s requirements in terms of the material’s technical properties, colour, texture and design.
A Nordic white for clean rooms
As first impressions make all the difference, the exterior of the house had to be something very special. In order to create a façade to match the scale of the work, Dekton Zenith was selected for the cladding. It is a Nordic white, perfect for fresh and spacious environments. The clean, matt finish suits any style and blends in perfectly here. The studio chose it because it had “confidence in the quality of the material, as well as the colour and finish qualities”.
At the architectural level, the studio was very clear about the challenge it faced: “The integration of rationalist architecture in an almost rural setting, its harmonisation with traditional elements and the achievement of functional requirements in a site with a complex topography,” they said.
Hence the staggered layout of the house, which also features an infinity pool on one of the levels, and the walls dividing the outdoor spaces in Dekton Sirocco, whose limestone-inspired grey colour is ideal for refined spaces.
Concealed fixing for seamless surfaces
The cladding is installed using a concealed adhesive fixing system on aluminium profiles, approved by the supplier of all components and by an authorised fitter with the necessary training and site supervision. The cladding is fitted with an L-shaped starter profile for support and a safety clip painted in the Dekton colour is installed in the area of the suspended ceiling of the porch, as specified by the site management.
This system is very efficient to install and is widely used because it is concealed, allowing a continuous view of the Dekton surface with minimal joints between the panels. The system is competitively priced compared to other systems and the inclusion of Dekton as a high performance cladding with a 25-year warranty is an added value that is highly appreciated by the owners and project management.
