While some call it China’s Silicon Valley, it is widely accepted that Taiwan’s Hsinchu Science Park is the epicentre of the world’s chip production. Around 120,000 workers from more than 400 high-tech companies, the lion’s share of which are mainly involved in the semiconductor industry and the production of chips or microchips, converge on Hsinchu to carry out their working day.
And it is exactly here that Luxshare Precision Industry Co., Ltd, the company for which L&L Interiors developed a project, is located. With this level of daily traffic, it was necessary to have a tough, versatile, yet elegant material that would convey the essence of the company. That is why Dekton Halo was the material of choice.
Sober but not cold
The Dekton Halo stone is presented in an off-white colour with subtle grey tones and a smooth and lustrous finish, like the reflection of a pristine crystal. If offers great strength and versatility, making it perfect for use in both residential applications and, in this case, larger scale projects. Its technical features combined with superior performance, distinctive colours and textures make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor projects.
In this case, as an entrance hall, it acts as a transition between inside and outside, so it is the busiest area in the building and needs to reflect the company’s idiosyncrasies. Sober without being cold, sophisticated without being overly designer.
Conveying personality
L&L Interiors took on the challenge of imbuing the technology with a sense of personality and ensuring that the best of it was expressed from the very first moment it entered the building. To this end, 400 square metres of Dekton Halo were used for the floor and wall cladding. This helps to create a seamless visual continuity that at all times suggests the scale not only of the building but of the company itself. A statement of intent.
Large recessed luminaires embedded in the walls and ceiling, and huge windows complete the look, achieving the desired effect of grandeur, elegance and comfort.
