“We aim to design spaces that feel inherently right, where every detail contributes to creating a sense of effortless luxury and comfort,” explains Amit Malhotra, co-founder and director of Aflux Interiors, the studio behind the interior design of this home. The project breathes a certain Mediterranean inspiration, with whites, woods, and a colour range of greens and neutrals, along with small natural touches with plants. In this context, Aflux Interiors opted for Dekton in bathrooms and kitchen “to achieve a flawless and elegant aesthetic while ensuring ideal durability for daily urban use.”

The renovation takes place in a residential apartment in Battersea, London, with the aim of “conveying a refined sense of modern living through cohesive materials and high-performance surfaces. Calmness, continuity, and durability were prioritised, combining soft mineral tones with darker architectural contrasts to define each space without visual excess.”

Dekton Nacre and Dekton Kelya in the bathrooms

In this way, in the main bathroom, Dekton Nacre is applied as continuous cladding for walls and flooring, creating a homogeneous envelope. Its cement-inspired finish and warm tones are used to minimise visible joints and enhance a uniform perception of the space.

The continuity between vertical and horizontal planes reflects a clear intention for visual control and ease of maintenance, as well as ensuring resistance to moisture and intensive use. “Applied to both wall cladding and flooring, the material creates a unified, spa-like environment defined by clean lines and minimal joints. The result is a calm and understated bathroom, designed for long-lasting performance and visual harmony,” the studio explains.

The second bathroom, meanwhile, introduces Dekton Kelya, used as wall cladding and complete enclosure for the shower area. Its dark tone and stony character provide a more architectural feel, maintaining the same logic of integral application. The surface extends seamlessly across the walls, reinforcing the material presence of the space and emphasising its functional role within the apartment. “Used in wall cladding and the shower enclosure, Dekton Kelya creates a strong architectural presence while maintaining an elegant and refined atmosphere.”

The soft veining of Dekton Marmorio takes centre stage in the kitchen

In the kitchen, Dekton Marmorio becomes the main feature, used on worktops and surfaces. Its marble-like appearance with soft veining and warm look introduces a lighter feel to the overall design, visually balancing the finishes used in the bathrooms.

“Dekton Marmorio brings a sense of natural movement and lightness, balancing the more mineral and darker tones of the bathrooms.” The choice of Marmorio is based on both aesthetic criteria and its technical performance against heat, stains, and daily use, consolidating the kitchen as an integral part of the project's material narrative.
