This beautiful house located in the Russell Lea neighbourhood, Sydney, uses the neutral colours of its façade and volumes as a tribute to tranquillity. Designed by KASA Design and Construct, it achieves a delicate balance between sobriety, discretion, and elegance. The façade sets the tone for the entire property: a play of verticality and texture that announces the interior's elegance and anticipates a home where light, proportion, and materials combine to create a balanced and characterful atmosphere.
The entrance was a real challenge
According to the studio, the most representative element of the project is “the spectacular double-height entrance clad in Dekton, which creates a striking sense of verticality and openness in the space.” This architectural feature, visible from the exterior, highlights the access and defines the identity of the property. The chosen material was Dekton Marmorio, whose texture and appearance align with this intention.
Its selection was based on aesthetic and functional reasons. KASA Design and Construct highlights its durability, low maintenance, and the way its “modern and clean” appearance facilitates integration between the interior and exterior. The material's finish, with subtle veining and a natural look, ensures the property is “refined and timeless,” without competing with other project elements. The studio also emphasises that Dekton provided “freedom, flexibility, performance, and long-term durability,” qualities particularly important in areas exposed to outdoor conditions and continuous use, such as exterior spaces and façades. In these areas, Dekton Marmorio offers resistance while maintaining chromatic continuity with the façade.
Integrated outdoor kitchen
The surfaces of the outdoor kitchen are also clad in Dekton Marmorio. The worktop, splashback, and pillars share this continuous surface, helping to define the space and reinforce its serene character. As an area exposed to outdoor conditions, durability and low maintenance were essential requirements, which Dekton Marmorio meets according to the design studio.
In fact, the client describes Dekton Marmorio as a tone capable of balancing “warmth and elegance,” integrating seamlessly with the other selected materials. They also highlight its high durability, excellent performance under demanding conditions, and sustainable nature. In the client's words, the material “is incredible in appearance, performs under pressure, and is sustainable,” qualities that solidify its choice for a residential project of this nature.
