Inside Kerrie Kelly’s ADU, where thoughtful design meets Cosentino craftsmanship

When designer Kerrie Kelly set out to transform her underutilized Sacramento garage into a 37 m2 accessory dwelling unit, the goal was clear: create a flexible, serene retreat that could evolve alongside her family’s needs. With ADUs increasingly embraced in California, the project became an opportunity to reimagine function, offering privacy and independence for guests, aging parents, or future caregivers, without sacrificing design.

Inspired by decades-long relationships with trusted brand partners, the ADU serves both as a personal sanctuary and a living showcase of thoughtful collaboration. The aesthetic is light, curated, and timeless, echoing the main home while embracing a more minimalist approach to maximize the compact footprint. Soft blues, warm neutrals, and layered textures bring a sense of calm and cohesion throughout.

Cosentino surfaces play a central role in delivering that vision. In the kitchen, Silestone Et. In the bathroom, Dekton Rem was selected for the vanity, shower walls, and tray, offering seamless material continuity, streamlined installation, and long-lasting performance ideal for a high-use environment.
