In the heart of southern Israel, in the city of Be’er Ya’akov, interior designer Dikla Omezgin has brought to life a single-family home that combines modernity, warmth, and functionality. The project, designed for a couple with two children, addresses the challenge of creating a contemporary and minimalist home without compromising practicality and the use of the highest quality materials.
The homeowners initially began planning and selecting materials on their own, but soon realised they needed an expert vision to achieve the result they envisioned. “My challenge was to step into an already-started project and transform it into something different, clean, aesthetic, harmonious, and above all, true to my style and design vision,” Omezgin explains. “I did my best to preserve what already existed and intervene as little as possible… The result is a space that works wonderfully, feels complete and precise, and offers that true sense of home they dreamed of.”
Minimalism with soul
The designer opted for a modern-minimalist style with natural touches that add warmth. The home is arranged in open and bright spaces, where clean lines coexist with organic textures and carefully curated details. The balance between functionality and aesthetics is evident in every corner, from the kitchen to the bathrooms.
At the heart of the home, the kitchen becomes a family gathering point. The ultra-compact Dekton Rem surface by Cosentino covers the large central island, offering durability, easy maintenance, and a timeless aesthetic that perfectly aligns with Omezgin’s vision. “I chose Dekton for its strength, ease of care, and elegant appearance. The surfaces greatly contributed to the clean and luxurious look of the house, maintaining the design language we were aiming for.”
The bathroom as a sanctuary
If the kitchen is the social heart of the home, the main bathroom is its most intimate retreat. Here, Omezgin chose Dekton Marmorio, one of her favourites, for the flooring, cladding, and integrated sink. The result is a serene, sophisticated, and functional space, where the material provides visual continuity and durability that ensures the design remains flawless over time.
For Omezgin, natural materials or those that evoke natural textures are essential: “They are always present; they bring warmth, balance, and a strong presence to the space.” This philosophy aligns with a design vision that emphasises sustainability, not only from an environmental perspective but also through the choice of durable materials and smart solutions that stand the test of time.
