Cosentino is proud to be part of the addition to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where DKTN: the Ultracompact Stone was featured in portions of the facade and used to wrap columns of the Colbert Library, which is now in the university’s main campus.

Tidewater Builds learned about DKTN through a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) and knew it was the perfect material for the project. Halo was the color selected to bring portions of the rainscreen facade to life (attached with the Gridworx stone cladding system) as well as wrapping columns in the exterior of the space. DKTN Halo is a pure white shade with subtle hints of gray - it is soft and bright, bringing elegance and sleekness complemented by unmatched peak performance.

Not only beautiful, DKTN will stand up to the test of time and use while requiring no maintenance. Unlike any other surface on the market, DKTN is created through a cutting-edge Sintered Particle Technology (SPT), mimicking a process that takes Mother Nature millions of years in just a few hours.

The result is a virtually indestructible surface that brings the look and feel of natural stone without any of the upkeep. It is the ideal material for a facade due to its stain and scratch-resistant properties as well as being non-combustible, graffiti-proof, and unaffected by extreme hot and cold temperatures.

We are thrilled to see DKTN specified for such an impactful project that will see thousands of students grow, develop, and make a difference.
