Cosentino Group announces its 7th International Cosentino Design Challenge Competition

Cosentino Group, the multinational and world leader in the production and distribution of quartz and other natural stone worktops, announces the 7th International Cosentino Design Challenge Competition for its two categories: Architecture and Design.
The aim of the competition is to foster the talent of students, promoting research into the different conceptual approaches regarding the layout of spaces, materials and the construction systems defining them, using materials by Cosentino®.
The competition is aimed at students enrolled in the 2012-2013 Academic Year, studying design, architecture or interior architecture at any tertiary educational centre or polytechnic in the world.
The Cosentino Design Challenge is an international competition that enjoys the collaboration of prestigious schools such as: the Design Academy Eindhoven (Netherlands), the Italian Design Institute (Istituto Europeo di Design) of Milan (Italy), the Madrid School of Architecture, the Barcelona School of Architecture, the Madrid School of Design, the School of Architecture in Seville and the School of Art in Almería.
This year, for the Design category, students are required to reflect on “Cosentino and the office”, and to present any kind of design proposal they choose on this subject, using materials by Cosentino.
For the Architecture category, the focus is on a “new conceptual approach for an outdoor kitchen”, using materials by Cosentino.
Proposals may be submitted from the 28th of February 2013 until the 1st of June 2013.
A total prize money of 6,000 Euros will be divided among three first prizes of 1,000 Euros in both categories.
The jury will be made up of persons of renowned prestige in the world of architecture and design.
