Cosentino sponsors the Madrid Design Festival 2019
Cosentino reaffirms and boosts its support of the 2019 Madrid Design Festival (MDF19) as a sponsor. This international festival held in Madrid, will celebrate its second edition this February.
Cosentino, following its collaboration as a showroom partner of the previous edition, is contributing to the content programming of this year's festival. This time around, it's bringing two important figures of the international design scene to the Spanish capital: the British designer, Benjamin Hubert and the Argentine-Swiss designer, Alfredo Häberli. Benjamin Hubert will give a lecture regarding his vision of design at the Madrid Official Association of Architects (Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos deMadrid - COAM)
The British Designer Benjamin Hubert will present the conference Design from Reason along with Cosentino and will serve as a speaker at the professional conference at the Madrid Design Festival, MadridDesignPro. Experiences with Meaning at the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos in Madrid. The designer (who is also the founder and creative director of the LAYER design studio) will give a talk on a series of recent projects that includes everything from avant-garde furniture to progressive technology. He will also cover the distinctive creative process followed by his innovative studio in London, and will also share some information pertaining to the next project he's creating for Cosentino. The conference will take place in COAM (Hortaleza street, 63), February 15, 17:45pm.
Alfredo Häberli will present in Cosentino City Madrid his project for the Living Kitchen Fair in Cologne, sponsored by Dekton® by Cosentino, called A kitchen for the Near Future.
Thanks to Cosentino, another relevant figure in the world of international design, the renowned Argentine-Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli, will visit Madrid during the festival. During the last week of the festival, at Cosentino City Madrid, Alfredo will chair a conference, during which he will discuss his futuristic vision of the kitchen: A Kitchen for the Near Future. In this project, sponsored by Dekton® by Cosentino and presented this week at the Living Kitchen Fair held in Cologne, Häberli analyses the social importance of food, in addition to food preparation and consumption and the sensuality of the objects and materials that surround it. He will also talk about the role of the kitchen being the soul of the house and the place where everything comes together. February 26, 12:30 pm at Cosentino City Madrid.

Conversations on Cuisine and Architecture of the Silestone Institute
The Conversations on Architecture and Cuisine, organised by the Silestone Institute, consist of debate and discussion sessions where professionals in different areas share their vision of the fusion of gastronomy and design in restaurants. On this occasion, Chef Paco Roncero, Interior Designer María Villalón and Santiago Alfonso, representative of the Silestone Institute, will host a discussion on restaurant architecture and design, and offer their own perspectives. February 1, 1:00pm at Cosentino City Madrid.
Exhibition "Squaring the Circle" by Pepe Cruz Novillo, winner of the National Design Award.
Cosentino is also making a contribution to the festival programme with the exhibition La Cuadratura del Círculo ("Squaring the Circle") by Pepe Cruz Novillo, one of the pioneers of graphic design in Spain and winner of the National Design Award. In 2014, he began this project, where the possible combinations of the 16 cubes generate more than 121 trillion different and unique creations, inviting visitors to play with his work. Presentation of the study Global Kitchen 2
Finally, on the last day of the festival month, the Global Kitchen 2 study will be presented. Global Kitchen is an initiative by Cosentino to provide a forum for reflection on domestic cooking and whose ultimate goal is to transfer knowledge to the sector and to society in general. In 2017, the Global Kitchen: the Domestic Kitchen in the Age of Globalisation report was presented for the first time. This is a publication that summarised the main trends in design, as well as the use that kitchens may have in the future. Using the first study as a starting point, Global Kitchen 2 offers different points of view regarding the kitchen as the centre of the home. February 28, 12:30 pm at Cosentino City Madrid.
Casa Decor Madrid 2019
At the same time as the Madrid Design Festival, Cosentino will also participate in Casa Decor Madrid 2019, an exclusive display of interior design that is held every year in a different location in the centre of Madrid. For six weeks, the exhibition will open a unique historical building to the public, which houses nearly fifty spaces decorated by the most renowned interior designers of today. From 24 January to 10 March 2019, you can visit Casa Decor Madrid at Nú?ez de Balboa 86.
