The Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie has opened this month of October 2019 its doors in the heart of the Quatre Rang dome of the Lyon Grand Hôtel-Dieu.
With four floors and 4,000m2 extension, this renowned institution from the French city of Lyon, is furnished with an active and dynamic kitchen made out of Dekton® by Cosentino, the innovative and resistant ultra-compact surface for architecture and design. The Dekton® colour Baltic, which represents a deep and matt saturated blue, inspired in the most daring depths of the sea, has been used in the countertop, creating a drastic contrast with the shiny white of Dekton Xgloss Halo hue used in the cladding. In total, for the creation of this kitchen designed by architect Carlos Salazar (Salazar Arquitectos Studio) 22 slabs of the ultra-compact surface Dekton® were used: 19 s Dekton® Baltic slabs in 20mm thickness, and 3 Dekton® Halo slabs in 8mm thickness. The agenda will evolve throughout the seasons, offering the visitor to review their experience from different angles, feeding reflection about a healthy gastronomy and encouraging know-how and related professions.
