The OTOMOTO Kitchen Sink at Clerkenwell Design Week in London

News

The OTOMOTO kitchen sink system in collaboration with Cosentino, is returning to the design forefront showcasing at Cosentino’s showroom for Clerkenwell Design Week 2019. Following a successful premiere at the Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition at Milan Design Week, the OTOMOTO lifestyle venture solidifies its position as an innovator in kitchen design with a second debut during London’s leading design festival.

The OTOMOTO kitchen sink system is a versatile, modular kitchen solution that highlights functionality and ergonomics in the kitchen, and is inspired by space-saving kitchen units seen in Japan. A lifestyle venture by Artist, Ryan Gander and Creative Director, Tony Chambers, the OTOMOTO sink system is made from Cosentino’s Silestone – a surface made from natural quartz and other raw materials. The Silestone sits atop a utilitarian timber frame, with wooden boards to create a work top or to be set aside, creating a flexible prep space.

Creators Ryan Gander and Tony Chambers chose the Silestone® shade Kensho in Suede finish for the kitchen sink system, giving the system a grey base and soft touch of the material.

We chose Silestone® for its unique and versatile qualities – its perfect balance of utility and luxury. It is tough and resilient yet looks elegant and is beautiful to touch,” says Tony Chambers, Creative Director of OTOMOTO.

“The OTOMOTO kitchen sink pushes the boundaries of innovation in the kitchen,” says Sanitago Alfonso, Vice President of Marketing and Communication at Cosentino Group. “The sink showcases both functionality and aesthetic in design, which is also enhanced using our versatile and natural Silestone® material.”
