Designed by the Garaj Mimarlik studio, Monreve Brasserie reinterprets classic French culture with a modern aesthetic defined by marble, brass, and the warmth of wood. At the heart of the project, Cosentino's Silestone surfaces provide durability, versatility, and timeless beauty.
Located in Izmir, Turkey, this restaurant is a carefully orchestrated sensory experience. “The project is a reinterpretation of classic French culture with contemporary elegance. The Art Deco-inspired approach, enhanced by marble floors, brass details, and the warmth of wood, welcomes refined gatherings in a multi-layered atmosphere that transforms throughout the day,” explains the studio.
An interior that balances history and modernity
The design of Monreve Brasserie achieves a precise balance between the historical and the contemporary. Marble provides a noble and structured foundation; brass introduces warm and sophisticated reflections; and wood envelops the ensemble in a sense of timeless comfort.
In this context, Cosentino's hybrid mineral surface Silestone was chosen as a key element to maintain aesthetic coherence while ensuring the functionality required in a high-traffic dining environment.
“We chose Silestone for its wide range of colours and textures, which allowed us to support the design concept with creative freedom,” comments the Garaj Mimarlik team. The ability to adapt the material to different areas —from bars and counters to worktops and support surfaces— enabled the visual language of the space to be unified without compromising technical performance.
Silestone: beauty, sustainability, and durability
Beyond its refined appearance, Silestone offers fundamental advantages for a commercial environment. “While it provides sustainability and aesthetic diversity, it also offers high durability,” explain the architects. In venues like Monreve Brasserie, where activity is constant, this durability is essential to maintain an impeccable appearance over time.
Additionally, its easy cleaning and low maintenance make it an ideal material for intensive use. “Cosentino provides a durable surface —something we value greatly, especially in commercial areas— with ease of cleaning and outstanding aesthetic appeal,” adds Garaj Mimarlik.
The result is a dynamic space that adapts its character according to the time of day, transitioning from a bright and relaxed atmosphere in the morning to a more intimate and sophisticated one at nightfall. The harmony between noble materials, lighting, and textures turns the Monreve Brasserie experience into more than just a dining encounter.
