Dekton stands out in the bright kitchen overlooking the fjords of musician Ben Adams

In a postcard-like landscape, overlooking the snowy fjords of Nesøya, British musician Ben Adams lives with his family. From being part of the successful Anglo-Norwegian band A1 in his youth (with which he still performs) to representing this latter country in Eurovision in 2021, Adams has had a prolific career that has made him a respected and well-known singer-songwriter in his adopted country.

It was in 2021 that the musician became a father. Since then, he has combined parenting with creativity, as evidenced by his home: it houses his studio as well as everything needed to live day-to-day with the utmost comfort for everyone.

“We had already used Dekton and Silestone in both our cabin and our previous apartment. So, when we started renovating this house with a long-term perspective, it was an obvious choice. They are beautiful, practical materials and durable enough for everyday life with small children,” explains Adams.

This is why the ultra-compact surface was chosen to decorate the kitchen and laundry room. The brilliant Dekton Arga, inspired by Taj Mahal quartzite, spans the worktop and kitchen island, as well as the laundry worktop. Dekton Khalo, which mimics the patterns of the prized Patagonia stone, shines with its polished finish on the wall behind the shelves, and Dekton Nacre colours the front with a cream tone that oscillates between fine microcement and lime stucco.

“The kitchen is the heart of our home. We wanted it to feel open and bright, with the fjord just outside the window. That’s why we chose a serene and welcoming palette, but with a touch of elegance. Even using different Dekton colours on the worktop, wall, and front, everything feels connected and easy to live in. We are very happy with the result,” says Adams.

Beyond its aesthetics, the fact that it is a material that requires virtually no maintenance also scores highly in daily life: “Dekton is almost indestructible. It withstands heat, scratches, and spills; you don’t have to worry about it all the time. And still, no matter what happens, it continues to look amazing,” concludes Adams.
