Taking centre stage at the Indonesia Design District PIK 2, the showroom kitchen designed by NN Studio for Fritz Hansen and TOTO aims to become a new benchmark for experiential showrooms in Jakarta. The space, conceived as a highly functional kitchen, was designed to convey the warmth and sophistication of a real home while maintaining the durability required for continuous use.
A combination of aesthetics and durability
The biggest challenge of the project was precisely achieving that balance: creating a showroom kitchen that would serve as the heart of the space, combining aesthetics and durability. The choice of materials was key in this pursuit. “We needed a surface that matched the tone and atmosphere of the space, but also offered technical performance,” explain the studio.
Deserved prominence
“The worktop had to withstand wear and tear without losing its beauty,” the designers state. “Dekton offered us exactly that: a surface capable of withstanding heat, scratches, and stains, while maintaining the refined look we were seeking.” The result is a kitchen that fulfils its practical function while standing out as an iconic element within the showroom.
Working with Cosentino, they say, was “a joy.” “They offer a wide range of designs and colours that are always at the forefront. This gave us the creative flexibility we needed to elevate the space both functionally and aesthetically,” they conclude.
