More than a single-family home, Clavells, as this project is called, is a kind of oasis in raw and neutral colours, a haven of calm and tranquillity in Palmanyola, fifteen minutes from Palma de Mallorca. It is the latest project by Mallorca Heritage, and everything about it exudes good taste, sophistication, aesthetics, and a great deal of visual continuity thanks to the use of Dekton Avorio both indoors and outdoors.
This continuity was a sought-after premise that required a single material with high technical capabilities and an exclusive finish, as noted by Mallorca Heritage: "Being a single-family home, the material used needed to be very resistant, easy to clean, versatile, and that is why Dekton was chosen. The chosen colour was Avorio, for its warmth, texture, and the complexity of its stone-like design." And the result speaks for itself.
Dekton Avorio extends seamlessly
The material continuity proposed by the project is particularly evident in the daytime area, where Dekton Avorio extends seamlessly across the floors of the living room, dining room, and kitchen, reinforcing a unified spatial reading. This fine-grained, ivory-toned stone-like finish serves as a visual base supporting light wood carpentry volumes, neutral textiles, and carefully controlled indirect lighting. The choice of a single material for the entire horizontal plane eliminates visible joints between spaces and facilitates a direct connection with the exterior through large sliding windows, linking the interior with the terraces and garden without texture changes.
In the kitchen, Dekton Avorio is used on the floor, the central island, and the worktops, creating a continuous surface that meets very specific technical criteria: resistance to heat, scratches, and moisture in a high-use space. The finish introduces a slight colour variation that avoids a monolithic effect and adds visual depth to a space dominated by clean lines and compact volumes. The same logic is applied in the laundry room, with flooring and work surfaces resolved in the same material.
Stairs and wet areas
The bathrooms carry this continuity to the vertical plane. The showers are fully clad in Dekton Avorio, with large-format pieces that minimise the presence of joints and make maintenance easier. In the washbasins, the material is used to create worktops and fronts, integrating with recessed taps and suspended furniture. The choice of Dekton Avorio in these areas also responds to its performance against moisture, cleaning products, and daily wear.
The stairs, also finished in Avorio, reinforce the vertical reading of the project. The large-format, straight-edged steps create an architectural element that visually integrates with the walls and floor. The same material strategy is maintained in the spa and gym, with continuous flooring that withstands both foot traffic and the constant presence of moisture, steam, or impact from sports equipment.
Continuity outdoors
Outdoors, the same material extends to the terraces and the pool area. The pool basin and the perimeter of the water surface are made of Dekton Avorio, allowing a direct transition between interior and exterior without material changes.
This continuity is particularly visible in the porch and solarium area, where the interior flooring extends to the garden and integrates with the landscape. The material's stability against solar radiation and temperature changes typical of the Mallorcan climate was crucial for its application in these areas.
The use of over 1,000 square metres of Dekton Avorio in all these areas reflects a project strategy based on the controlled repetition of a material capable of adapting to very different contexts without losing technical performance.
