Forbes project

Our Forbes renovation project is located in Katimavik, Ottawa. The project encompasses a complete interior renovation of the main floor, including Kitchen, Powder Room, Family Room, Living Room and Dining Room. Our clients: a young family who are in love with the area. They live close to family, great parks, schools and amenities. The downside: the original 1980’s single family home did not reflect their personalities and lifestyle. It was outdated, warn, closed-off, and had limited counterspace. The concept was to create a modern space that is warm, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. The homeowners love to entertain. They are creative and talented young professionals, and they wanted their home to reflect that. We completely opened up the kitchen by removing surrounding walls (with required structural upgrades to do so), reworked the flow of the kitchen, maximized the island size/countertop space, and provided better storage solutions. The kitchen is the hub of the house. It’s an entertainer’s dream. The open concept is ideal for keeping an eye on the kids while cooking dinner. We achieved a warm minimalist feel with the use of soft finishes, warm woods, and clean lines. The entire design concept was focused around the Silestone countertops & waterfall edge on the kitchen island. We married the countertops with a complimentary large format tiled backsplash, and decorative concrete pendant light fixtures. The millwork is sleek and modern including panel ready fridge and dishwasher drawers. Small details such as the plumbing fixtures and cabinet hardware pull it all together. New wood flooring was installed throughout the main floor.
