At ILO, design is not a decorative layer but a structural element that shapes the experience, supports daily use and gives the space a strong, identifiable character. Located in Limonest, ILO unfolds as a contemporary canteen, café and meeting place, conceived to evolve throughout the day. Behind its apparent simplicity lies a highly precise architectural and material approach.

The interior architecture was designed by BLOMA, founded by Julian and Jérémy, whose work is rooted in an ambitious vision of total design. Building on a creative journey that began in 2014, BLOMA develops a holistic approach in which space, furniture, materials and graphic elements are conceived as a single, coherent system, always driven by use and emotion.

For BLOMA, each project begins with a careful reading of everyday practices and rhythms. Rather than relying on superficial effects, the studio embraces an aesthetic of continuity, drawing from the history of places while reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens. At ILO, this philosophy translates into a clear and fluid spatial composition, where volumes naturally support circulation and functions.

The layout is structured around the bar, the true heart of the restaurant and a visual anchor within the space. Here, materiality plays a central role, becoming a language in its own right.

Material as the project’s signature

The bar counter and table tops are crafted in Silestone Jardin Emerald, in a 12 mm thickness. With its deep green tones and subtle veining, the surface introduces an organic, almost vegetal dimension to the project. It gives the space an immediately recognizable identity, while interacting delicately with light, furniture and everyday gestures.

Non-porous and highly resistant, Silestone Jardin Emerald is perfectly suited to the demands of a high-traffic restaurant. Its ease of maintenance and hygienic properties make it an ideal solution for intensive use, without compromising elegance or the visual lightness afforded by its slim profile.

In contrast, Silestone Linen Cream, in a 20 mm thickness, softens the overall composition. Its light, almost textile-like appearance brings brightness and a sense of comfort, balancing the deeper tones of the project and reinforcing spatial clarity. Like all Silestone surfaces, it offers durability, resistance and ease of care, essential qualities in a dynamic hospitality environment.

PMG craftsmanship, ensuring precision and longevity

The fabrication and installation of the stone surfaces were entrusted to PMG, whose expertise was key to the success of the project. The precision of the cuts, the quality of the joints and the sharpness of the edges reflect a rigorous execution, essential to faithfully translate BLOMA’s architectural intent.

The collaboration between BLOMA and PMG is based on a close dialogue between creative vision and technical mastery. Every detail is designed to last, every surface integrated with real-world use in mind, ensuring both aesthetic coherence and long-term durability.

A sustainable vision of restaurant design

ILO stands as a place deeply rooted in its context, designed to evolve with its users, where interior architecture, materiality and experience converge in a contemporary, sensitive and enduring design language.

Through ILO Limonest, BLOMA asserts a committed vision of contemporary design, where creativity is expressed through precision, functionality and material sincerity. Cosentino surfaces become true partners in the project, supporting a strong architectural identity while meeting the practical demands of everyday use.
