Ceppo di Gré: the stone that adorned Milan becomes a trend reinterpreted by Dekton

We immersed ourselves in Milan to draw inspiration from its buildings and reinterpret the stone most widely used in its architecture: Ceppo di Gré. This natural stone of a unique bluish-grey colour can be found in such iconic buildings as the current Milan City Hall, and reached its golden age during the Spanish period in Italy.

The Ceppo di Gré stone means character and today Dekton tries to rewrite its history, reinterpreting its beauty to design spaces that inspire us and connect us with nature.

Its powerful design full of personality highlights any indoor or outdoor space. Its structure full of forms in perfect harmony, with a wealth of details, fits perfectly in both classic and modern environments. A unique style that makes the difference.

For this reason, Cosentino decided to decode it together with other classic natural stones such as Travertine and Vicenza stone. In collaboration with architect and designer Daniel Germani, creator of the new Pietra Kode collection, all these stones have been recoded with the beauty, strength and durability of Dekton technology.

Among the 7 colours in this brand new collection is GK07 Ceppo.

Why choose Ceppo Kode to design your home

For lovers of natural stone that adds character with its strong personality, Ceppo Kode is a sure winner. Its pattern rich in detail remains unchanged over time thanks to Dekton technology.

With a delicate matt finish, Ceppo Kode is pleasant to the touch and less cold than natural stone, yet its beauty remains undiminished.

A further advantage of this collection is that it comes in Dekton’s famous large format, with 330 x 160 mm slabs that create a visual continuity that is difficult to achieve with other materials. This, together with the variety of thicknesses available, provides endless applications and a much more modern and functional finish.

How to combine the new Ceppo Kode from Dekton

You may not realise how many possibilities this particular design of the Ceppo di Gré can offer you. The unique beauty of this colour is coupled with its technical features, which allow it to be used both indoors and outdoors for flooring, furniture and even fireplaces.

Combine classic floors with a modern twist

GK07 Ceppo is ideal for large-format floors, where there are hardly any joints and the pebbled effect is hypnotic. Match it with natural fibres and other lighter colours from the collection, such as VK01 Nebbia, and you will be amazed with the result. If you want to bring warmth to a space, we recommend using wood, ceramics and even pile textiles like this armchair.

Create design furniture by combining Pietra Kode colours

The colours of this collection blend well together to build unique pieces, such as this table featuring a GK07 Ceppo table top and VK02 Avorio legs. This table also reflects one of the main trends for 2023, which is furniture with rounded curves. It certainly is the perfect exclusive touch for a simple, minimalist interior like this one.

The façades also represent character

To make your house stand out from the rest, start with the façade. A GK07 Ceppo cladding will provide a sophisticated look that will impress any guest. For more information on all compatible fixing systems (glued, ventilated, curtain wall, etc.), please refer to our façade section. In combination with wood and other lighter colours from the Pietra Kode collection, it will add a warm and contemporary touch to your facade. You can even play with the lighting to highlight the pebbled pattern and give depth to the architecture.

Outdoor spaces upgraded to lounge level

Connect the interior with the exterior of the house using GK07 Ceppo flooring and create equally sophisticated atmospheres in the garden. Match this colour with light grey furniture with accents of wood to retain the elegance of Ceppo di Gré, but with greater resistance to abrasion and sudden changes in temperature. The finishing touch to this space is the use of another lighter colour from the Pietra Kode collection for the outdoor fireplace, which takes centre stage with this large cladding up to the porch roof.
