A Smaller Splash!
Pachón—Paredes
Madrid, Spain
The project is summarised in a series of sporting areas, culminating in a swimming pool, designed to care for the body and mind
The underground level is sealed off from the building. The result is a spatial transformation in which the basement is sectored in accordance with thermodynamic constraints. These conditions define the rules of exchange, delimitation, pressure, retention and filtration of air and water that govern the intervention.
The new layout gives rise to a series of adjacent rooms that are conceived as different environments in which to exercise or meditate, and which promote physical wellbeing. Complementing this, an inhabited perimeter of facilities and services supports the synergies and energy systems of the space and the building above.
