Perched high above Barcelona, with views overlooking the city and the Mediterranean, lies a newly built single-family home that embodies everything we now consider sophisticated. The project, designed by architect Ricard Armengol Ballester with Daniel Expósito as project manager, combines clean lines, bold geometries, and cutting-edge materials. The choice of Dekton, Cosentino's ultracompact surface, has been pivotal in both the aesthetic language of the house and its technical resolution.
A façade with great personality
The character of the home is defined from the outside with a ventilated façade made of Dekton Moone, a neutral tone that enhances the volumetry of the structure and provides an elegant and timeless presence. The choice of this material was no coincidence: “It was recommended by the technicians as the best material,” the architects point out.
In this ventilated façade, Dekton slabs have been fixed using a structural adhesive system to a metal framework, a lightweight and easy-to-install system. Dekton is also an ideal surface for ventilated façades and a constructive solution that contributes to improving energy efficiency.
Beyond its appearance, Dekton offers unparalleled technical performance. Its resistance to UV rays, freeze-thaw cycles, abrasion, and stains, combined with its non-combustible nature, make it the ideal ally for façade projects. Added to this is the 25-year warranty offered by Cosentino for this application and its Carbon Neutral certification, which reinforces the company's commitment to sustainability.
Large (but lightweight) slabs for low maintenance
The interior maintains aesthetic coherence thanks to the use of Dekton in various rooms. In bathrooms, the ultracompact surface covers floors and walls with the colours Dekton Daze and Dekton Reverie, bringing brightness and serenity to the space.
On a practical level, the material meets the demands of daily life: “It is a very practical and easy-to-work surface,” the architects highlight. Moreover, maintenance and installation pose no issues. Everything is straightforward.
The dialogue between interior and exterior is completed with the use of Dekton Aeris in the outdoor areas and the swimming pool. Its light tone enhances Barcelona's natural brightness and creates visual continuity between terraces and the water surface. The material's resistance to the most extreme conditions makes it the perfect choice for this type of application. This is how Barcelona is experienced at its finest.
