The Memar family, owners of this Australian home, fell in love with Cosentino products. The proof is that they use them in almost every one of the 500 square metres of the spacious house, from cabinets to tables, from walls to vanities.
From the entrance, its use can be appreciated: on the main door and also in the hall, Dekton Rem has been applied, a colour that is also present on the balcony floors. Even the garage door features this material, this time in Dekton Aeris.
Light-dark contrast in the kitchen
Once inside, we discover that the flooring throughout the house, as well as the skirting boards, has been crafted with Dekton Danae. This contrasts particularly with the kitchen, featuring worktops and fronts made of Dekton Sirius. But the darkening makes sense: only then can the sculptural Brazilian quartzite island, Sensa Taj Mahal, shine in all its splendour.
“The house receives plenty of light, so the black kitchen, with the reflections from the light flooring and Sensa Taj Mahal, makes the space feel really warm and welcoming,” says the homeowner, Andre Memar. From Piran Boutique Builders and interior Design, responsible for the project, they add: “The open kitchen worktops and the beautiful island are the best part of this project. We love the Dekton cladding on the doors, it makes cleaning incredibly easy.” Perhaps that’s why they also used it for the worktop and front in the laundry area, which features the soft tones of Dekton Marmorio.
Thanks to its stain-resistant treatment, Sensa stone is also very easy to maintain. “Sensa cladding allows us to use natural surfaces with the same benefits as Dekton. The client has tested these worktops and has nothing but positive comments about the durability of the surface,” say the builders.
Custom-made tables crafted with Dekton
The same colour scheme is used in the working kitchen as well as in the adjacent living room. There, the TV wall has been clad in black with Dekton Sirius, and the fireplace area, along with the custom-made coffee table and side table, have been clad with Sensa Taj Mahal. These choices enhance the design coherence, providing unity to the entire space.
The light-dark combination continues in the dining room, where the light-toned flooring of Dekton Danae, as well as the staircase landing in Sensa Taj Mahal, draw attention to the table made of Dekton Spectra. This has also been custom-made for the project.
A bedroom with spa-like vibes and bathrooms featuring Dekton
In the private area of the house lies one of the homeowner’s favourite spaces: “The master bedroom has a super modern vibe, reminiscent of a day spa,” she says. In it, a large wall clad with Dekton Khalo steals the spotlight and leads to the walk-in wardrobe. At its centre, a custom-made chest of drawers topped with the same surface provides unity to the ensemble.
The master bedroom’s bathroom features flooring, walls, and furniture clad with Dekton Rem. It is a comprehensive creation, encompassing everything from the worktop to the sinks, including the doors.
It’s not the only bathroom showcasing Cosentino products: another one features a worktop and sinks made of Dekton Ceppo, a material that has even been used to create a tissue dispenser.
The guest toilet, meanwhile, features walls clad in Dekton Sirius, while the flooring and furniture, integrated with a worktop and front and custom-made, are crafted with Dekton Trilium. On this occasion, a tissue dispenser in the same colour has also been chosen.
Dekton’s durability conquers the outdoors
The Memar family also wanted to include Dekton in the outdoor kitchen of the house. In this case, Dekton Spectra was used for the worktop and front. “The fact that the client can use the worktops for intense cooking thanks to their stain and scratch resistance, along with the many colour options, are some of Dekton’s advantages,” say Piran Boutique Builders and interior Design.
The team also appreciates its resistance to weather conditions, while for the client, the best features are its natural patterns and ease of maintenance, which have won her over when decorating the entire house.
