Just steps away from the turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf stands Villa Amavita, a modern private residence located in Hidd Al Saadiyat. This private community, with 464 luxury homes, is situated at the northern tip of the idyllic Saadiyat Island and is surrounded by green spaces, walking trails, bike lanes, children's play areas, and swimming pools. Additionally, it offers direct access to the nearby Hidd Al Saadiyat marina and is just minutes away from shopping and leisure centres, as well as cultural landmarks like the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
With such a privileged setting, the studio chosen to design the interiors of Villa Amavita had to meet high expectations. For this reason, the residents selected Zero2Cento, a studio renowned for creating high-end spaces.
“True to its name – ‘Amavita’ means ‘love for life’ – the villa is a soulful retreat designed for a family with a deep passion for art and nature,” explains Nikyar Neshat, founder and principal designer of Zero2cento Studio. This is reflected in the numerous artworks adorning the house, as well as its landscaping, which blends Mediterranean and tropical influences. These are showcased in its Balinese-inspired pool area, featuring a sunken outdoor lounge that invites gatherings and relaxation.
The sculptural heart of the kitchen
“With contemporary elegance and timeless design as its foundation, the home features a reimagined layout that balances communal living with the need for privacy. Soft forms, earthy-toned marbles, handcrafted finishes, and bespoke Italian pieces bring warmth and organic beauty to every space,” says Neshat.
The kitchen is a prime example of this. Manufactured in Italy by Studio 971, it is “a statement of understated elegance and professional-grade functionality,” according to the studio. “Its character is defined by the on-trend combination of sand-toned cabinetry paired with the intensity of Dekton Somnia in black, which clads the monolithic central island, the worktop, and the full-height splashback,” the interior designer adds.
Indeed, just one glance at this space reveals that the island steals the show. With its captivating details of warm browns and oxidised whites blending into a deep black tone with a fine grid pattern, the piece brings refinement, texture, and sensory appeal to the space, infusing it with life.
“Dekton, by Cosentino, was the perfect choice for this kitchen, not only for its bold and sculptural aesthetic but also for its exceptional performance. We needed a material capable of meeting the demands of a family kitchen without compromising on a sleek and contemporary look. Dekton Somnia offered the best of both worlds: heat and scratch resistance, easy maintenance, and a distinctive visual identity that elevated the entire space. It allowed us to create continuous and monolithic island and splashback surfaces that are as practical as they are sophisticated,” concludes the founder of Zero2cento Studio.
