The Paéma patisserie, well known among the people of Marseille for its refined and seasonal creations, has recently moved into a newly redesigned space. Located in the 7th arrondissement, the place combines contemporary design, high-end materials, and a soft Mediterranean atmosphere.
The goal of the renovation: to create a space that is as pleasant for visitors as it is practical for working in the kitchen. The interior design revolves around two key materials, both from Dekton by Cosentino, chosen for their durability, ease of maintenance, and strong visual impact.
The central counter, a structuring element of the boutique, is clad in Dekton Khalo. Inspired by Patagonia stone, this material stands out with its graphic veins—mixing blacks, whites, and golden reflections. It’s also used for table tops, creating a consistent and elegant look.
This choice creates a strong focal point in the space, evoking raw mineral textures and natural aesthetics. Dekton Khalo adds a sophisticated touch without feeling cold or pretentious.
For the floors and technical areas, Dekton Danae was chosen. Its matte, sandy beige tone fits perfectly with the space’s ambiance. It's a neutral, calming shade that lets the pastries shine while ensuring a seamless flow between the boutique and the workshop.
Beyond aesthetics, Dekton Danae is a smart technical choice: resistant to stains, heat, and extremely easy to maintain — ideal for a professional environment like a patisserie.
The rest of the layout emphasizes warm simplicity: light-colored walls, pale wood, soft shapes, and natural lighting. The space breathes, allowing light and people to flow through, highlighting what truly matters: the creations of Paul and Méryl, and their connection to the neighborhood.
With this renovation, Paéma offers more than just a new shop: it's a space thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail, where beauty and function coexist intelligently. A place that appeals as much to pastry lovers as to curious passersby.
