According to Argentinian designer Daniel Germani, “a visually appealing space is no longer enough to satisfy people. Well-being is flourishing”. It was with this in mind that he designed ‘Travertino’, his bathroom proposal for The Bathelier, the C·Bath ideas lab, Cosentino’s comprehensive proposal for bathrooms.
In ‘Travertino’, contemporary, intimate and sophisticated features make up a balanced and honest space where spaciousness and functionality reign throughout the concept, giving the room a very comfortable character. In this sense, two walnut vanity units and a shelf provide additional storage space, allowing you to discreetly store toiletries or decorative items.
Dekton Pietra Kode: making connections between past and present
Clean and serene, Germani’s bathroom embraces the experience of light flooding the space. In a wilful confusion between indoors and outdoors, the interior space connects with the views of the courtyard, whose greenery creates a peaceful oasis for relaxation, and thus achieves an atmosphere for self-contemplation.
The shower, which is in a separate area, is a way of escaping from everyday life through the ritual of water, updating and reinterpreting ancestral traditions. In this way, Germani transports us to Rome in all its glory. The shower is completely clad in Dekton Pietra Kode TK05 Sabbia, a colour that recreates Italian travertine.
The same colour was used for the floors and walls, filling the room with nuances, beauty and strength. Its irregular pattern gives it a unique natural look that brings nature into this temple of well-being.
In dialogue with the proposal, Dekton Pietra Kode TK06 Marmorio was used for the washbasins and vanity countertops, making them the stars of the design. Inspired by Travertino Navona stone, its porous, light coloured striped structure gives it a unique, bright and lightweight character that matches perfectly with the walnut wood used in these pieces.
