Madrid, 11 October, 2024.- Within the framework of the recent World Architecture Day, yesterday Cosentino City Madrid hosted the official launch event of the international Cosentino Design Challenge (CDC) 19th edition. During the event, the two themes that participants (architecture and design students from all over the world) will need to research in order to develop inspiring projects were announced. Once again this year, the CDC jury will be looking for proposals with a focus on sustainability, the life-changing capacity of design, creativity and innovation.
CDC 19 Themes and Schedule
In the Design category, the theme will be “Cosentino and Nature: Biophilic Design”, in order to explore integrating natural elements in urban spaces to promote well-being and sustainability in contemporary design. In the Architecture category, the theme is “Elements of Industrialized Architecture”, aimed to explore innovative application of industrialized techniques and materials in contemporary architecture, prioritizing mass production, aesthetic expression, and sustainability.
CDC organization leaves students free to develop their projects with the only requirement that the final project includes some of the innovative surfaces that Cosentino offers to architecture and design: Silestone®, Dekton® and/or Sensa by Cosentino®. Details of the programme and submission format are explained in more detail here.
The submission period started last 1st October 2024 and will end next 1st June 2025. For each category, there will be 3 first prizes of €1,000 each, 3 runners-up, and special mentions considered by the jury. Find out all the details at cosentinodesignchallenge.org/en/19th-edition/
