Cosentino clads the interior of a flat located in one of the most avant-garde biophilic districts in the world

Punggol Northshore is a newly opened state-of-the-art eco-district in Singapore, whose design follows the principles of biophilic architecture. Under the premises of this approach, the aim is to achieve greater environmental and human health through the use of natural light, the association with plants, the increased presence of water and the promotion of air circulation, among other things.

The innovative waterfront project includes a shopping centre, two common parks, four public housing complexes (with some 3,000 flats) and a highly green urban landscape, full of indigenous plant species. 

This area is home to the project developed by the interior design and refurbishment company JGEC, which was in charge of customising one of the flats. Inside the flats, Cosentino’s materials have been used in both the kitchen and the bathroom. 

‘We find it very easy to work with Cosentino products,’ says the company. ‘They can be used in many different ways for many different applications’. For instance, the colours Ethereal Glow and Ethereal Dusk by Silestone have been chosen as wall cladding, as well as for the island and kitchen worktops.

As for the first colour, the elegant gold and grey veining stands out, which blends in with a tinged white foundation, running through the slab and bringing colour to every corner. In the second colour, which is similar but not quite the same, the most striking feature is the bluish tone of the interior of each of its veins, which gives it a very modern touch. This, together with its avant-garde linear pattern, makes Ethereal Dusk one of the most urban and contemporary designs in the collection. 

Cosentino products have also added character to the bathrooms of this house. Dekton Helena was chosen for one of these spaces for its delicate translucent appearance in white and grey shades, inspired by the natural onyx stone. 

In the other bathroom of the house, Silestone Et Statuario reigns supreme. Its colour – inspired by the classic Italian Carrara marble – features a white surface with very subtle and bright grey veining. In this way, the tones blend harmoniously and merge into a background that stands out for its unique sense of depth.
