Inspired by the timeless charm of the novel “The Secret Garden” this lush yet elegant private rooftop was designed by Rooftopia, a Chicago-based landscape architecture firm with custom design capabilities, craftsmanship, and keen attention to detail. This luxurious oasis in the heart of Chicago, nestled close to Wrigley Field, was designed to be a space for relaxation and enjoyment by the client’s family and friends.
The deck features Dekton custom paver tiles with Grip+ technology which provide a sleek, modern, and durable foundation for the residential rooftop. Dekton’s large-format tiles and stunning finishes offered Rooftopia a unique combination of durability and beauty, making them perfect for this outdoor application. The material is not only visually striking but also built to withstand the Chicago weather conditions while ensuring they remain timeless elements of the design for years to come.
“The large-scale tiles from Dekton not only contribute to the luxury appeal of the deck but were also custom-cut to incorporate organic curved lines, adding a unique, elegant touch to the space. This collaboration allowed us to explore innovative materials that matched our design vision and craftsmanship,” explain the designers of Rooftopia.
Complementing the design is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen by Urban Bonfire with Dekton Keon countertops, a Hestan grill and fridge, and Brown Jordan Outdoor Furniture pieces, including a dining room table with a Dekton Keon top, offering a high-end outdoor cooking and hosting experience. To provide comfort and shade, Rooftopia installed custom louvered pergolas and retractable screens by Renson, allowing for a functional space that adapts to the changing weather.
This one-of-a-kind rooftop deck combines urban luxury with natural beauty, offering a hidden paradise above the bustling streets of Wrigleyville.
“After seeing the potential of Dekton for decking, we knew it could elevate our rooftop designs.”
