Located in Jumeirah Islands, Dubai, Montenegro is a high-end residential project developed by C’est ici Design. With a total area of 316 square metres, the property is conceived as a seafront apartment where spatial organisation, natural light and material selection define the everyday experience of the space. The project was designed by the team of Monica Arango, Tracy Audi and Johnny Matta.
With an open-plan layout
The property is structured around an open-plan layout with a limited number of fixed partitions. This decision allows for constant visual continuity between rooms and prioritises panoramic sea views, which become the main focal point of the project. Zoning is achieved through pivoting panels, freestanding columns and fluted glass enclosures, which enable the separation of functions without disrupting the overall perception of the space or the flow of natural light.
From the entrance, the project establishes its material language. The hallway features wall cladding and a shelf made of Dekton Marmorio, a travertine-inspired finish that complements the oak wood used in this area.
Meanwhile, the dining area is integrated into the main space as a central feature. The custom-designed table is made of Dekton Khalo and rests on textured cylindrical bases. Its presence defines the area without the need for additional enclosures and is complemented by Almendra lights by Flos, AI chairs by Philippe Starck, and movable architectural panels that allow the degree of separation between spaces to be adjusted according to usage needs.
In the kitchen, the flooring is resolved with Dekton Argentium. Its soft grey tone, visually reminiscent of a lime plaster finish, provides a continuous and durable texture, suitable for a space subject to intensive use. The choice of this material responds both to technical criteria and the desire to maintain chromatic consistency with the rest of the property.
Luxury bathrooms
The bathrooms feature a significant amount of work with Cosentino surfaces. The main bathroom combines different Dekton finishes depending on their application: Dekton Nacre for wall cladding and flooring, Dekton Liquid Shell for the washbasin worktop, and Dekton Neural for the shower walls. This combination introduces visual and tactile variations within the same space.

As Monica Arango, founder and creative director of C’est ici Design, explains, “Montenegro is a project that balances timelessness with a certain sense of playfulness.” In this regard, the chromatic and textural breadth of Cosentino allows surfaces to be used both as functional and architectural elements, especially in cladding and custom furniture applications, where the material actively contributes to the construction of the space.
