Cosentino at the Heart of the Home: A Look Inside Leanne Yarn’s “The Gathering Place” at Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach 2026

Cosentino is excited to announce its sponsorship of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach in 2026 - marking the eighth consecutive year of being a sponsor. For the first time ever, designers reimagined every corner of two remarkable homes: a waterfront Intracoastal House and a charming Palm Cottage, located just across the street in the Northwood Shores neighborhood. This year’s Intracoastal House kitchen highlights Cosentino’s Dekton® surfacing, showcasing limitless creative possibilities of innovative surface design, pairing striking beauty with exceptional durability.

Leanne Yarn’s “The Gathering Place”

The 2026 Show House features a kitchen designed by Leanne Yarn-Alcalay, Owner and Principal Interior Designer of Yarn Design Associates. When designing the space, Leanne thought about creating a "forever home” that felt timeless, lived-in, and a space where people could come together. The result, and ultimately named “The Gathering Place”, showcases how modern materials and organic design elements can help facilitate human connection.

"The Gathering Place" stands as an invitation to think bigger when it comes to design. When you pair imagination with the right materials, the sky is truly the limit for what a home can become.

Sculptural Island Inviting Connection

The center of the space features a unique, triangular island. Leanne was challenged with a smaller footprint, and decided to move away from a standard rectangular shape and instead create a focal point that felt organic and sculptural. She said, "We designed this beautiful triangular island because kitchens are becoming more of an extension into our living spaces. I came up with the idea of a sculptural island that works as a pivot point, pushing you into the next area of the home."

Warm Neutrals and Durability

The “Gathering Place” consists of warm, layered neutrals. Leanne paired two Dekton colors for the counters and backsplash to create depth. Polished Dekton Khalo was used to create the central triangular island, providing a wow factor reminiscent of the natural Patagonia. In contrast, Dekton Kira brings a darker color with subtle veining to counters and backsplash. Both warm-toned stones pair perfectly against the walnut cabinetry, brass fixtures, and gold hardware. In fact, mixed finishes is a trend Leanne sees growing in popularity through 2026. Additionally, she sees a shift in homeowners requesting more durable materials such as Dekton, “A lot of people are getting away from natural stone because they’re concerned with durability and maintenance over time. With Dekton, it doesn’t stain and you cannot burn it—it lasts forever."

Her one piece of advice when designing with Cosentino materials: “It's not just about putting a slab on a countertop or a backsplash anymore. You can do really fun things like an organic island and angle the material instead of doing a standard waterfall edge. Even pierce it with LED lighting like we did. You can make it a little more interesting, a little more edgy"
