Cosentino City Miami Unveils Traveling Photography Exhibition: Hands of Architecture

Featuring the work of Spanish artist Juan Carlos Vega, the exhibition is focused on images of key figures in architecture & design - spotlighting top Miami architects for the new installation

Cosentino Group, the global leader in innovative architectural surfacing solutions has unveiled its new “Manos de la Arquitectura” (Hands of Architecture) exhibit at the Cosentino City Center in Miami. Curated by Spain-based photography magazine FEARLESS®, the exhibit debuts new work by Spanish artist and photographer Juan Carlos Vega with over 50 images of top Miami architects. The Cosentino City Miami showcase marks the latest iteration of the traveling exhibit, which will be open to the public at Cosentino City Miami until April 17, and is available from 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

“We’re proud to host the “Manos de la Arquitectura” exhibit within our City Center here in Miami,” says Eduardo Cosentino, North American CEO. “Our City Centers are designed to foster creativity and collaboration, so we couldn’t be more excited to bring the community together for an inspiring design showcase, featuring the work of renowned photographer Juan Carlos and honoring key Miami architects.” 

The exhibit includes a mix of traditional portraits of architects and portraits of the architects’ hands, holding an object of personal significance. Bringing together the best of art and design, imagery featuring the architects’ hands is brought to life on Dekton® by Cosentino ultra-compact surfacing material. Featured Miami-area architects include Raymond & Marisa Fort (Arquitectonica), Carla Guilhem (Carla Guilhem Design), Dean Lewis (DB Architects), Michael Dolatowski (Deft Union), Sandra Diaz-Velasco (Eolo A & I Design), Craig Aquart (MC Harry & Associates), Paolo Trevisan & Samuele Sordi (Pininfarina), Pinar Harris (SB Architects), Carlos Prio-Touzet (Touzet Studio) and Giancarlo Pietri (Urban Robot Associates).

Esteemed guests and protagonists of the exhibition attended the opening ceremony last night in Miami and were warmly welcomed by the Cosentino family and executives, including Eduardo Cosentino, CEO of Cosentino North America; Brandon Calvo, Chief Operations Officer for Cosentino North America; and Patty Dominguez, Vice President Architect and Design Sales for Cosentino North America. 

The Manos de la Arquitectura traveling exhibition hosted its inaugural showcase in 2020 and partnered with Cosentino as of 2021, with an exhibit at the Cosentino City Center in Madrid last October, and in Barcelona last November. At each location, new photos of prominent figures within the world of architecture and design have been added to the portfolio including Rafael Moneo (Pritzker Prize), Alberto Campo Baeza, Carlos Lamela, Emilio Tuñón, Paloma Sobrini, Fuensanta Nieto, Tristán López-Chicheri, Beatriz Matos, Ana Bofil, Tomás Alía, among a list of nearly 50 figures who have participated. Its next stop will be the Cosentino City Center in Milan, Italy.

About the Artist

Born in 1975 in Asturias, Spain, Juan Carlos Vega is a renowned artist and photographer specializing in architecture. He is also the lead photographer of Fearless Magazine and was previously at LMVH. Juan is a ballet enthusiast, which has helped him combine and document the art of dance and architecture together.
