Cosentino is proud to take part in one of the nation’s most celebrated design showcases: the 2025 Lake Forest Show House & Gardens, held this year at Pembroke Lodge in Lake Forest, Illinois. The historic Georgian-style estate, originally built in 1895 by renowned architect Henry Ives Cobb, is being transformed by 38 top interior designers and landscape architects, each of them reimagining the home’s grand spaces while honoring its architectural legacy.
This year’s main kitchen, designed by Ablaze Design Group, featured a stunning combination of materials, including Dekton Nacre in both 2.0 cm and 12 mm thicknesses. Sleek and subtly textured, its Velvet finish adds quiet sophistication to both the perimeter countertops and the expansive kitchen island. The Nacre is beautifully complemented by Dekton Vigil on the backsplash, adding a warm and natural element with its marble-inspired veining.

The warm, timeless kitchen feels grounded to the home’s history, but is elevated with modern materials. Dekton Nacre’s creamy tone and matte texture bring in that softness and elegance, while still providing the performance and durability needed in a high-use space. Dekton Nacre with the signature Ukiyo fluted texture is also featured in the kitchen, showcasing the innovative ways Cosentino surfaces can be used to add dimensional interest while maintaining a seamless style. Designed with resilience in mind, Dekton is scratch-resistant, heat-resistant, and carbon neutral in its full lifecycle, making it an ideal choice for this high-profile show house that celebrates both design and sustainability.
Beyond the kitchen, Ablaze Design Group extended Cosentino materials into additional hardworking spaces. In the pantry, Silestone Jardin Emerald creates a rich jewel-toned countertop that’s both vibrant and practical, while the same color in the Ukiyo fluted texture adds a striking vertical application across the walls.
For the adjacent scullery, interior decorator Jennifer DeCleene selected Dekton Rem for its marble-inspired aesthetic and exceptional durability, bringing refined contrast and continuity throughout the home’s prep and service areas. She was inspired by English kitchens with mixed finishes on the cabinetry and durable stone materials, creating an honest approach to a hardworking space. Dekton in 2.0 mm thickness adds daintiness and simplicity, making a utilitarian space as cozy as possible.

Open to the public from April 26 through May 25, 2025, the Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens benefits the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago. This year marks the 20th edition of the celebrated event, set against the stunning backdrop of a 15,000-square-foot estate surrounded by English gardens, a reflecting pond, and a historic pool house designed by David Adler.
Cosentino is honored to support this legacy of design excellence and charitable giving and to collaborate with the forward-thinking minds at Ablaze, who are redefining the heart of the home with materials that are as beautiful as they are enduring.
