After his recent appearance in the Cincinnati Masters 1000 and his stunning performance in the Rio Olympics, tennis player Rafael Nadal visited the Cosentino Manhattan showroom yesterday. In New York for the last Grand Slam tournament, the US Open, the elite Spanish athlete and friend of Cosentino came to see first hand the “Cosentino City” which opened in the Big Apple last year. The showroom is located in the famous A&D building, known as the central hub for New York design, with many major luxury firms. The "Cosentino City" is a new concept the company is implementing in different cities across the world. They aim to capture visitors' attention not only by the interactive experience of the showroom, but also through its top-notch customer service provided by expert staff members. It offers a variety of displays and work space for architects and designers, fully equipped with the latest technology to help these professionals visualize and develop their projects. During his visit, Nadal saw the many different areas of the showroom and met a number of Cosentino customers and partners. The meet and greet had a large turn out including representatives of the architect and design community, members of the Cosentino team, Santiago Alfonso (Marketing and Communications Director of Cosentino Group) and members of the media. Consul General of Spain in New York, Mr. Rafael Conde de Saro, also attended the evening's event. During his visit, Nadal highlighted the importance of the US market for Cosentino and said he, "admires that a family-owned Spanish company has achieved such an important presence for its brands in this complex market." In reference to Dekton the tennis player commented, "We have used it throughout the tennis Academy we are building in Manacor, where the first promotion of resident students is to begin in a few weeks." This visit is part of the relationship established at the end of 2014 between the Cosentino and Nadal, in which the company's ultracompact surface brand Dekton is a sponsor of the “Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar” opened by the tennis star in his birthplace, Manacor. Dekton has also been one of the main materials used within the Academy, as façades, flooring and other surfaces, revealing all the architectural and design possibilities this product offers.
