Save The Sea: diving into sustainability consciousness and action

Cosentino and NGO Equilibrio Marino partner to preserve one of our greatest assets, the Mediterranean Sea, and work together towards a more sustainable world.

Cosentino’s roots lie in Andalucia, Spain, a land whose life depends on the balance of its ecosystem. This land’s bloodline is the Mediterranean Sea, which bathes the stunning shores and is home to countless coral reefs, meadows, and sealife. This balance is beginning to break down, with increased pollution, temperatures rising, intensive fishing, and more. But it is up to make a change.

Cosentino is deeply committed to doing its part in preserving this vital resource, which is why we have partnered with marine conservationist NGO, Equilibrio Marino. This partnership began with the launch of the first-ever Carbon Neutral Silestone Collection, Sunlit Days, but extends far beyond.

Cosentino team members in Almeria had the opportunity to participate in the first of many Save The Sea initiatives alongside Equilibrio Marino to create awareness about biodiversity in the area and how we can preserve it. During this experience in San Juan de los Terrenos, Cosentino employees participated in an educational session with marine ecosystem specialists and enjoyed a diving experience in the Alboran Sea, the westernmost portion of the Mediterranean Sea.

This event will kickstart a brigade of Cosentino employees who will accompany Equilibrio Marino in diving expeditions to clean the sea and also participate in beach cleanups.

Together, we can save the Mediterranean, because balance is possible
