Step inside Ron Woodson’s Mediterranean-style oasis

Interior designer Ron Woodson takes us behind the scenes of his LA home using Dekton in the kitchen and bathroom spaces.

Ron Woodson, renowned LA-based interior designer and co-founder of the award-winning interior design firm Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design, gave us an inside look at his home. Ron trusted Dekton by Cosentino to bring his kitchen countertop and bathroom vanity top to life.

Let’s step inside...

What inspired you to create this project?

The home was Spanish in style and we updated it to the modern Mediterranean. We were inspired by the rich colors and textures of the Mediterranean.

Tell us a bit about the surfaces, why did you make this selection?

We chose Dekton Rem from the Natural Collection for the kitchen countertops and Dekton Taga from the Stonika collection for the main bathroom countertops. Rem is warm with hints of gold, brown, and cream shades that highlight the blue tones of the cabinetry. Taga, on the other hand, added a rich texture to the dark mahogany vanity and seafoam shower and wall tiles.

Why Cosentino in this color and application?

We chose two Dekton colors for the functionality and aesthetic value that the material provides. Dekton products are extremely durable and resistant and provide plenty of texture and warmth to the space. Durability was an especially important aspect, which is why we selected it for the kitchen - it checked all the boxes.

How is it different to design your own space versus a clients’ space?

As an interior designer, my own projects are always a bit more difficult because I have so many options at my fingertips. I am also a lover of so many different styles, looks, and feels. This home has a very particular and distinct style, and I wanted to make sure it was warm, comfortable and welcoming. Anywhere you go in the house, you get a sense of warmth but on a magic carpet ride.

My personal style is reflected in this project showcasing my love for preservation, tradition and mixing the old with the new.
