The Return of Warmth In Modern Interiors
We’re seeing a shift towards warmer interiors, embracing organic tones, natural elements, and organic shapes.Â
For many years, contemporary design has been characterized by cool palettes, crisp whites, and polished surfaces, but the mood is shifting. Today, homeowners and designers alike are embracing oak tones, organic textures, and grounded palettes. As homes continue to serve multiple roles, there is a growing desire for environments that feel comforting without sacrificing performance.Â
In this article, we’ll explore how warmth is redefining what modern living looks and feels like, from the ground up.
Leverage flooring as the foundation of the designÂ
Flooring has a profound, and sometimes underrated, influence on the overall design. It anchors the room, shapes how light moves, and immediately establishes a tone for the rest of the space. Oak-inspired surfaces, such as Dekton® AMAZONIK, have become central to this evolution. Their subtle grain patterns, tonal variation, and natural rhythm introduce depth without overwhelming the space. Whether installed in continuous planks for an expansive effect or arranged in herringbone or geometric layouts for added character, wood tones provide a foundation that feels timeless yet modern.

The evolution of wood
Wood symbolizes warmth and nature in built environments, but as contemporary lifestyles continue to evolve, they demand more from materials than ever before. Homes today serve multiple purposes, especially as open-concept living areas merge kitchens and dining spaces and indoor/outdoor transitions are increasingly seamless. In this context, the aesthetic appeal of wood must coexist with durability and ease of maintenance.Â
We’re seeing a lot of innovation in that space with the launch of surfaces like Dekton® AMAZONIK, which reinterprets the natural structure of oak through a technical lens. The result is an ultra-compact surface that captures the warmth of wood while offering enhanced color stability, low porosity, and resistance to scratches and stains. It is designed to perform in environments where natural wood may require additional care, such as high-traffic interiors, wet areas, and outdoor applications.Â
Additionally, the collection introduces a new plank format in 8.0 millimeter thickness, developed to elevate flooring applications. Supplied in full slabs and supported by optimized standard cuts, it allows for efficient installation and flexibility on-site.

Warmth without compromiseÂ
The AMAZONIK collection is available in two oak-inspired tones. Kedar channels the richness of natural oak, ideal for interiors that celebrate material presence. Zira, on the other hand, is inspired by bleached oak and offers a lighter, more luminous interpretation suited to minimalist environments.

Designers can opt for large-format continuous surface or experiment with dynamic layouts to introduce rhythm and dimension. The versatility of the material also supports fully customized configurations, transforming flooring into an architectural statement rather than a secondary detail.
A grounded future
The return of warmth is not a retreat from modernity, but an evolution. Thoughtfully designed surfaces that combine the warmth of wood with advanced durability are uniquely positioned to create spaces that feel inviting and built for real life.Â
