Amidst the flames, colors, light, and smoke that fill EMBR Ultra Lounge in Atlanta, sits Silestone Eternal Noir. This stunning Silestone shade, part of the acclaimed Eternal Collection, was specified as the perfect material for the bar area of the bustling lounge owned by acclaimed singer/songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur, Akon.
The designer in charge of this project, Jeremy Jones from Jones Design Associates, had worked with Cosentino in the past and loves specifying it for its technical and aesthetic properties. Silestone Et. Noir specifically was selected because of its dark, sexy, and glamorous look, which played perfectly with the atmosphere of the place. The colors in EMBR Ultra Lounge change every day, so the fixed elements needed to be neutral so that it could play, and not compete, with the different colors.
Colored mist comes out of the 50 foot bar countertop created with Et. Noir, an innovative installation and one of the first of its kind. This complex technology that makes midst look like colored fire sits directly under the Silestone, a surface perfectly equipped to withstand the moisture and wear and tear of daily use with no maintenance. By using Silestone, the client avoided issues regarding warping, swelling, and scratching. Additionally, Silestone is able to resist the penetration of this high-moisture, smoky environment.
Silestone Et. Noir’s elegant black backdrop with striking white veining inspired by natural stone will be part of celebrations at EMBR Ultra Lounge for years to come.
“We wanted something rich , dark, and dramatic. In my mind, Silestone Et. Noir was the only option. It is an impactful color that stands out and is noticed without competing with the flames”
