Hipotels Playa de Palma Palace and Gran Playa de Palma
The hotel chain HIPOTELS has opened two new hotels in Playa de Palma (Palma de Mallorca) in 2017. Oriented towards foreign tourism, the chain’s main objective is to provide quality establishments, a personalised service, an excellent location and a tout of facilities and services that goes above and beyond market demands.
The new buildings, Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma (4*) and Hipotels Playa de Palma Palace (5*), will provide a major boost to the tourism, economy and quality of the area.
Connected by a convention centre, Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma (4*) has 368 rooms distributed throughout six floors, while Hipotels Playa de Palma Palace (5*) has 224 rooms spread over seven floors. Located only 200 metres from the beach, their facilities boast a wide range of services such as a terrace, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, bars, restaurants and a spa.
For the execution and set-up of both complexes, more than 72,700 m2 of the ultracompact surface Dekton® by Cosentino was used, and more than 1,600 m2 of Silestone® by Cosentino.

DEKTON®
Flooring for indoor and outdoor wet and dry areas
The ultracompact surface Dekton® forms a large part of the paving material for the interior and exterior flooring of both hotels. The large format of the Dekton® pieces (320 x 144 cm) has enabled the creation of highly aesthetic, high-quality flooring in bedrooms, common areas and the outdoor swimming pool.
Pieces of Dekton® manufactured in smaller sizes form terrace flooring, en- suite showers, staircases, spa (5*) and heated swimming pool (5*). Its strength, resistance to abrasion and easy daily maintenance make it the perfect flooring product.
The use of grip and anti-slip technology increases the safety level of the Dekton® surface, preventing possible accidents. Dekton®, thanks to its high resistance to hydrolysis, and therefore, its excellent water-resistant qualities, is the ideal material for spaces with a constant water presence. Dekton® does not change its composition or aesthetic in damp or wet environments, thus ensuring its durability and beauty.
Opting for uniform colour, different Dekton® finishes can be found in flooring throughout the project, in so , pale, and grey tones such as Danae, Blanc Concrete, Sirocco, Edora and Keon. The brand new colour Trilium was chosen for the heated swimming pool. This colour offers a metallic, industrial appearance and is made with 80% recycled materials. More than 41,000 square metres of Dekton® have been used in flooring.
4 Star Hotel Façade
The ventilated façade of the 4 star hotel building is composed of Dekton®. The properties of the material are ideal for this application. In proximity to the sea, Dekton® provides optimum resistance to erosion caused by beach sand and salt residue. Similarly, it has exceptional qualities such as high resistance to rays of ultraviolet light, colour stability and high stain resistance.
More than 9,000 square metres of Dekton® in the colour Edora create an architecturally impressive façade.
