Cheryl Kees Clendenon's Spain Inspiration
News, Top Life
October 15, 2015
Silestone Trendspotter Cheryl Kees Clendenon’s trip to Spain was alive with inspiration and discovery – from searching out perfectly imperfect neutrals, to developing friendships over fabulous food and wine.
During her travels with SilestoneUSA and Cosentino, she fell in love with the small town of Almeria, home to Cosentino’s international headquarters.
She was instantly taken with the unique aura that centuries of life and living bring to Spanish architecture. It was this element that impacted her feedback to the Cosentino team in Spain.
“It is hard to describe, but the depth of the architecture and natural materials inspire me to replicate this patina and ambiance in our design work.”
As a coastal designer, Cheryl was on the lookout for elements that her community embraces: softer shades, neutrals with sharp burst of color and blends of organic texture.
She found no shortage of inspiration!
“The age, patina, damage makes it uniquely perfect!”
Cheryl found unexpected friendships to be the highlight of her trip and the key element that solidified the 2015 Trendspotter’s success.
“I am not one to sit and linger over a meal but it was impossible not to do so! I honestly and truly believe there is no way we could have worked together as well as we did without the meals we took together.
Thank you Cosentino for the pleasure of working on new (and awesome!) colors with this unique group of people.”
