Cantoria, 8 May 2014.- Cosentino Group, the global leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design, has opened a new Cosentino City Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The opening of the Cosentino City Center in Malaysia is the second Asia-Pacific location to open recently, demonstrating Cosentino Group’s international growth and development.
The Cosentino City Center is a new showroom concept designed for a city epicenter that offers architects, planners, interior designers, general designers and consumers the opportunity to see the company’s wide range of surfacing products. This new showroom aims to meet the needs of the Malaysian market while serving as another Cosentino distribution facility in the Asia Pacific region.
The Cosentino City Center in Kuala Lumpur covers over 100 square meters and is divided between distinct functional areas such as a kitchen for “show cooking”, a training room and an exhibition area for the main brands of the group (Silestone®, Dekton® and Sensa) to be displayed. The space’s floors and walls also feature the new ultra-compact surface Dekton.
The opening ceremony was attended by 80 people and was hosted by Cosentino Group CEO Francisco Martínez-Cosentino Justo; Global Sales Director Eduardo Martínez-Cosentino Alfonso; Sales Manager for Asian and Pacific markets and Direct Sales, Ginés Navarro; Sales Director for Asia Carmen Herrada; and Project Sales Manager for the Malaysian market, Álvaro Raya.
“We want this innovative City Center in Kuala Lumpur to be an open and creative space that offers the best architectural solutions while teaching professionals across the country the beauty and functionality that our materials provide,” said Francisco Martinez-Cosentino, Cosentino CEO, “Our commitment to establishing ourselves with our own assets and experience in new markets continues in full force.”
Currently, the global company has an office in Singapore, a strategic enclave in Asia that serves as an operations hub, as well as a logistical connection with Australia and the Pacific. The company also opened a Sydney Cosentino City Center last year. In addition to Malaysia, Cosentino markets its products and brands in other countries in the region, such as China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan and Taiwan.
The Asian market has become a strategic area for the company as the fourth driving force of Cosentino Group’s international expansion behind the United States, Europe and Latin America. In 2013, Cosentino Group achieved total sales of 12 million euros and grew 13% in the Asian market. Forecasts for 2014 indicate an increase of 50% – reaching 18 million euros in total sales.
