The design world has been buzzing about Pantone’s not one, but two Colors of the Year for 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity. The pale pink and periwinkle blue have designers and critics contemplating products and pairings, and we caught up with Trendspotter and founder of In Detail Interiors, Cheryl Kees Clendenon, to get her take.
“Rose Quartz is a perfect accent—whether it’s gracing a chaise in a dressing room or making a statement in a surface. I love the idea of using Rose Quartz from Cosentino’s Prexury Collection as a powder room countertop—it’s sophisticated yet makes a stunning statement in a smaller space.” She does, however, advise homeowners avoid blush and pinks on the master bath walls or where make-up application occurs because of how it plays with how skin tone is viewed.”

“Serenity would be stunning on cabinetry paired with white countertops. Blue is universally a favorite color, and incorporating visual texture through the countertop adds an element of intrigue while maintaining the pairing’s classic appeal.”
