John Colaneri’s Dekton Island

John Colaneri, one half of the dynamic duo that is HGTV’s Kitchen Cousins, shares a passion for Dekton with his business partner and cousin Anthony Carrino. You’ve recently seen Anthony create a beautiful roof deck here on the Kitchen Chronicles, but John has a Dekton project of his own that demands attention!
Recently, John set out to create a dream kitchen in his New Jersey home, Dekton quickly became his first choice for surfacing when he decided to build a stunning oversized kitchen island with an impressive waterfall edge.
John chose Dekton Sirius for his island, pairing the deep black countertop with two black sinks. The ultrasized slabs allowed him to avoid seams, creating a sleek look for the 13’ by 50” island. In addition John wanted to be sure that the material he chose would stand up to the wear and tear of his daily life. He was drawn to Dekton’s reputation for withstanding even the most vigorous use, including the ability to place hot pots and pans directly on the surface. We can’t wait to see what he cooks up!
