Laura Burleson’s Design Wins 2015 Kitchen of the Year

News, Top Life

In 2015, we invited designers to submit projects that included either Silestone or Dekton for a chance to win our Kitchen and Bath of the Year Contest and a trip to KBIS 2016. Our contest had two categories: Kitchen (indoor and outdoor) and Bath.

Out of the many beautiful entries we received, interior designer Laura Burleson’s gorgeous kitchen stood above the rest. The design featured an impressive Dekton Entzo backsplash, countertop and island installation.

Home to a vibrant young couple and their three children, this Virginia kitchen won us over with its whimsical yet sophisticated interpretation of traditional design. The full-slab Dekton backsplash creates a dramatic backdrop for the space, encasing two large windows that flood the kitchen with natural light. Laura’s choice of an enameled LaCornue range, paired with a custom plaster and brass hood is framed by an elegant double-island cabinetry layout conceived by KDW Home.

Two-inch aproned Dekton, fabricated by Trindco, were chosen for the countertops as the homeowners desired the look of marble yet needed a material which could withstand the daily rigors of a young family. This kitchen has us swooning!
