Serving up Dekton at The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards

On Monday night, Cipriani Wall Street was abuzz with excitement over the announcement of The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards taking place for the first time in the United States.
For the 6th year in a row Cosentino sponsored the prestigious event, this time bringing Dekton front and center with an inventive and playful display featuring ice cream mixed on a super-cooled Dekton Trilium surface before partygoers’ eyes.
Dekton partnered with award-winning Brooklyn creamery, Ample Hills, for the event and founders Brian Smith and Jackie Cuscuna were onsite to hand-mix some of their most iconic flavors.
The ultra-compact nature of Dekton allowed it to be safely cooled to a very low temperature, creating the perfect surface to mix ingredients into the ice cream. The presentation showcased how Dekton’s unique composition makes it ideal for inventive applications, especially where changing temperatures could damage more fragile materials.
The night was a success, from the enchanting confections created on the Dekton display to the triumph of Osteria Francescana’s crowning as #1 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Cosentino continues to be a proud sponsor of innovation in the culinary world.
