SILESTONE TO LAUNCH TRENDSPOTTERS PROGRAM AT KBIS

Silestone (www.silestoneusa.com), a world leader in natural quartz surfacing, will launch an exciting new Trendspotters program by bringing together leading designers from across the country to spot the latest products, design innovation, and color trends at the 2012 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) from April 24-26 in Chicago. From bright, bold color and unique textures to innovative applications and international influences, they’ll be revealing this year’s highlights directly from the show floor. The Trendspotters will serve as design ambassadors for their regional markets, delivering a KBIS trend report this summer at a special event in their local Cosentino Center or industry partner showroom.
The Silestone Trendspotters will include four renowned designers with distinct and compelling design aesthetic from three important U.S. markets:
- Kim Lewis, former designer for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and founder of Kim Lewis Designs in Los Angeles. In six years with the prime time network show, Kim designed the architecture, exteriors, interiors and landscape for more than 100 custom homes in 41 states, Lewis also has been published in People and InStyle for her design work for the home of singer/songwriter, Jewel.
- John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon, are the design duo behind Madcap Cottage in New York City. The interior design firm’s creations reflect a respect for tradition tempered with bold splashes of color and playful patterns. John Loecke also was named by House Beautiful magazine as one of America’s Top 25 Young Designers. And after two decades as an editor for publications including Gotham, Hamptons, Los Angeles Confidential, and Aspen Peak, Nixon teamed up with Loecke to open Madcap Cottage.
- Mark Williams, of Mark Williams Design Associates in Atlanta. With varied experience in residential and design and interiors, and commercial interiors, Mark has developed a diverse work portfolio and is frequently published in magazines such as Kitchen Trends, Southern Living, Dream Baths, and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles.
Together, the Silestone Trendspotters will utilize more than 45 years of collective experience and a keen eye for great design to instantly report on emerging trends at KBIS through their own blogs and social media channels as well as the Silestone digital platforms, using the hashtag #SilestoneTrends. The up-to-the-minute insight will allow other architects and designers who can’t attend KBIS to stay informed on the newest products and trends for their design projects. Additionally, consumers and design enthusiasts, who typically are not permitted to attend the industry-only trade show also can get a sneak peak and join in the design conversation on the Silestone Facebook page where all #SilestoneTrends updates will appear during KBIS.

The Trendspotters also will serve as the judges for the Silestone Design Contest, which seeks to honor independent designers who demonstrate a mastery of color and design creativity in a kitchen project.
