Taking their talents global, the Silestone Trendspotters have recently returned from a weeklong trip to Spain, where they reported on international design trends, found their own design inspiration and visited the global headquarters of Cosentino, Silestone’s parent company, to discover how the family owned business became a world leader in beautiful surfacing.

After reporting the trends they discovered at the 2012 KBIS show this summer, the Trendspotters — Kim Lewis, John Loecke, Jason Oliver Nixon and Mark Williams — reunited in Macael, known as the city of “white gold,” for its world famous marble quarries. There, the Trendspotters learned the unique process of manufacturing Silestone quartz and viewed the magnificent quarries near the Cosentino compound.

Next, the group packed up their trendspotting skills and visited a couple of the “12 Treasures in Spain” for some serious design inspiration. La Alhambra in Granada and Sagrada Familia in Barcelona are both iconic locations that exemplify the beautiful colors, textures and architectural details of the area, not to mention beautiful Cosentino marble found in La Alhambra.  Other fantastic finds from the trip included the secret gardens in La Alhambra, fabulous vintage items at Encants Vells flea market in Barcelona and the gorgeous ironwork in the historic hill town of Mojacar.

Take a look at what the Trendspotters discovered in this photo album:
