Examples of the new color technology employed for the series can be seen in the image comparisons above.
Silestone (www.silestoneusa.com), the world leader in quartz surfacing, introduces the newly reformulated Mountain Series, a line of neutral hues inspired by the rich colors found in rugged mountainous terrain. The series leverages Silestone’s proprietary five-pigment color technology, originally introduced in the Galactic, Nebula and Stonium series, to create a stunning surface with improved color tone for superior depth, richness and complexity. The newly enhanced Mountain Series provides architects, designers and homeowners with even more choices for kitchen and bath design.
Inspired by the intrinsic beauty of natural rock formations, vast cannons and rugged mountain peaks, the Mountain Series has long been a popular Silestone offering, known for its colors that rival the look of quarried stone. Now, with the enhanced color technology, the Mountain Series provides even more movement and variation in its design with enlarged patterns that enhance the dramatic appearance of the stone, while still maintaining the durability and strength of natural quartz surfacing.
Mountain Series offers six distinct hues and contributes to the more than 70 hues currently available with Silestone, an industry leader in color innovation. The collection is available in the polished finish in 63” x 128” slabs in 1cm, 2cm and 3cm thickness in the following colors: Alpina White, a variety of beige and grey enhanced with light cream and dark speckles; Sienna Ridge, an assortment of three brown tones speckled with hints of cream and black; Giallo Quarry, a combination of complex undertones in an assortment of yellow and brown hues with black accents; Sierra Madre an exotic mix of blacks, browns and greys accentuated with a hint of cream and terra cotta; Mountain Mist, a bold and powerful combination of various greys and black tones with lighter shades mixed throughout; and Black Canyon, a smooth blend of black, deep brown and grey hues with a small application of cream and beige.
“Silestone consistently strives to improve by expanding its coloring offerings available to architects, designers and consumers seeking the appearance of natural stone,” said Lorenzo Marquez, VP of Marketing for Cosentino North America. “The newly enhanced Mountain Series now provides even more depth, richer shades and dramatic patterns for a powerful look, all while keeping the appeal of the natural color pallet that has become so popular with the collection.”
This beautiful, high-performing natural quartz can be used for a number of surfaces including countertops, vanity tops, flooring, bathtub surrounds, walls, shower stalls and fire place surrounds, all without the maintenance and upkeep that is required of marble and granite.
As with all Silestone natural quartz products, the Mountain Series is naturally non-porous and never needs to be sealed. It is easy to clean and has high scratch, stain, and heat resistance. Silestone also is proven to be a cleaner and safer countertop. It offers a unique combination of built-in antimicrobial protection that safely fights the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew along with the assurance of GREENGUARD certification for clean air quality, and National Sanitation Foundation certification (NSF 51) for safe food preparation.
The newly enhanced Mountain Series retails at $54 – $82 per square foot, depending on thickness and color. Beginning in September, the series will be available at premium kitchen and bath showrooms and specialty retailers. Silestone Quartz offers a 15-year limited manufacturer’s warranty.
