Susan Serra’s Colorful Scandinavian Home Kitchen Renovation
News, Top Life
March 20, 2016
When kitchen design expert Susan Serra, CKD, CAPS, told us that she was renovating her own home kitchen with inspiration from Scandinavian design, we couldn’t have been more excited. We started by chronicling her planning process and product selection, highlighting her choice of Dekton Borea and Halo as surfacing for the project. Now it’s time to show off her finished work.
The completed project was featured in Dwell Magazine and showcased both Albedo from the Silestone Influencer Series and Dekton in both Borea and Halo.
During her planning process, Susan noted, “When considering Cosentino products, performance of the products is a given which then leaves the FUN part of focusing on selecting colors, patterns, textures and more.” It certainly looks like she embraced the fun in this project.
Silestone Albedo creates an eye catching backsplash, bringing in the deep blues from her design’s walls, rugs and decorative items.
Dekton XGloss Halo was used to create this custom table. It’s reflective surface beautifully playing up the natural touches on display.
Countertops in Dekton Borea blend seamlessly into the aesthetic and smoothly support vignettes where Serra’s accessories are on display.
When selecting countertops, Susan challenges homeowners to “visualize the kitchen in a global way as well as by sections to evaluate the flow of the space. Consider lighting, colors, proportion and the interplay among all the sections.”
Balance, proportion and rhythm are certainly working together in this beautiful space!
